the ecu should plug into ur cars harness. just modify the engine harness to fit the necessary sensors on the engine.

You take your OBD-1 Civic harness.... use that with the swap. Take the OBD-2 H22A harness and cut the plugs from it, get a Helms manual or wiring diagram and match up the corresponding wires from the OBD-2 plug to the OBD-1 harness, lengthen wires as needed, solder & heatshrink, and presto.... OBD-2 motor in your OBD-1 car. FYI, OBD-2 electronics are the same as OBD-1 electronics, just different plugs.
For the ECU, use an ECU adapter harness if your car is an OBD-2 car. Otherwise, if you car is already OBD-1, just plug the damn thing in. For the other question about the OBD-1 ECU looking for "other" sensors, the OBD-1 ECUs doesn't look for as many sensors as the OBD-2 ECU so when you're doing the engine harness conversion, you're going to have some extra plugs left over that won't be needed, like crank angle plug and the 2nd O2 sensor plug.
