If you look on the upper left side of the block its stamped with the engine code

what is your chassis code...i.e. the 4th 5th and 6th number of the vin...either BB1, BB2 or BA8

BA8? It's a '92 then correct? ((If it's USDM))
Unless you have a Non-USDM Spec Prelude, that engine is not stock..

the BA8 chassis code corresponds to the Prelude S that comes with the SOHC F22A1 2.2L. However i would still check the code on the engine because there is a good possibility that there could be a swap in there.

96 s is s sohc bud. prelude vtec only had the h22s. si had the h23 like mine. Haha i'm a prooud owner of an si hybrid though. sporting an f22b from an accord lx til my h22 is ready.
