Customer Exhaust: Can I use a smaller diameter resonator?
<U>The "I already searched so don't flame me disclaimer"</U>
I did search for threads using different diameter resonators/piping to reduce noise, but I couldn't quite get the keywords. I either got hundreds of unrelated results or nothing : \
<U>Background Story</U>
I ordered KTeller 2.5" piping a while back when they still sold it and just got my exhaust put on recently. I have a header with 2.5" downpipe, 2.5" Magnaflow cat, 2.5" kteller piping, dual 12" resonators, resonated 2.5" magnaflow muffler with dual tip (keep the stock look). Well, like most people going 2.5" I guess, its WAY too loud.
I was thinking about trying a 2.25" Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator (http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...ts/Items/1140?) to make it quieter (in place of one or two of the 12" regular resonators). I didn't see how the shop welded everything on yet so I don't know what my options are for placement and how much straight piping space I have left for resonators.
<U>THE QUESTION</U>
Would putting a 2.25" resonator on 2.5" piping reduce the noise alot? Its seriously way too loud!
Any other (affordable) suggestions for sound dampening besides buying a completely new exhaust system?
Thanks!!!

A new muffler could help.
That was what I did with my retardedly loud 2.5" Mangaflow system. It sort of worked.
