Car won't start...just one "click"
i just did a valve adjustment on my 91 prelude. started her up, warmed up to normal temperature...shut her off. about 15 minutes later...i went to start it up again....all i got was one "click". i tried jumping it to see if it was battery/alt...no dice.
i can hear the "plunger" on the starter click into the flywheel...but nothing happpens after that. it's just one click, and not a damn thing after. usually you'll get the "chuga chuga chuga" or "click click click"...but this doesn't do anything. anybody have a clue as to what this might be?
i took my starter out and had autozone check it....it checked out 100% PERFECT.
the weird thing is that once i turn the key, all the starter does is click ONCE, and does absolutley NOTHING after that. it makes NO ATTEMPT to turn the flywheel or ANYTHING!
wtf?

I would put a 18" breaker bar on the crank pully and see if you can roll the engine over. You should be able to access this through the driver side fender, there is a removable plug in the inner fender plastic that allows access.
Did it run ok when you were warming it up? You might also check for engine codes on the ECU, although I have never heard of the ECU disabling the starter. Was the engine at RT when you did the valve adjust? Does it sound different now that the engine is cold, vs after you warmed it up?
Good luck

When it Clicks, do your gauges/lights go off? If so your getting a bad connection somewhere from the battery ground to the starter.. If not, then it sounds like you may have a partial seize... My car did the same single click when I hydrolocked it with the AEM..
