Cant get my idle down past 1700rpm
I got a 92 lude with a h23. automatic. Everything is running fine except it idles at 2k and drops down to 1700 when in drive. idle adjustment screw is at its max tightness. I cant think of anything else i can do to solve this problem. plus i get like 250 mile per tank in town. anyone have any thoughts or knowledge on my problem to share i would appreciate it. thanks

to start out with
have you checked your throttle cables
have you checked for vacuum leaks
have you unplugged your iac to see if it will idle down

Re: Cant get my idle down past 1700rpm
The problem is most likey your FITV (Fast Idle thermo Valve) It is located on the bottom of your throttle body (hint it has to small coolant lines running to it).
1st you need to drain your coolant from your radiator.
2nd you need to take the 3-4 10 mm bolts that mount the valve to the bottom of your throttle body( they are kinda tricky to get to).
3rd disconnect 2 coolant lines going to the valve.
4th after you have the valve dismounted from the throttle body you will see a small plate with 2 phillips head screws (remove this plate). After removing the plate you will see a large plastic shaped threaded insert with 2 slots in each side. You will need to take a flat head srew driver and stick the tip in one of the slots and turn it clockwise until it will not turn anymore. After you do this turn it back one half of a turn. and reinstall everything in the opposite order.
This should work for you because i was having the same problem with me h22.
Here is another write up if you dont understand my jibberish https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...e+thermo+valve
