That's right, the pipe has a smaller diameter, but I like it anyways, I'm gonna install it just for the hell of it till it gets all dirty and then throw it away, ohh I forgot, I also have a 90' 300zx, maybe I can do something with it, lol

Re: Anyone using this cold air intake?
Yes I am ashamed to admit I did have one of these on my H22 swapped Accord a few years ago. On the highway it did seem to get a nice increase in top end but thats all on the butt dyno. My main problem with the quality of this unit is the construction of the air box. The filter does not fit air tight around the lip of the box and dirt can get past the edge of it. I siliconed around the edge of mine and it worked out OK. Running one of these is not a good idea in the rain though. Good luck if you decide on it anyway.

I didn't say damp. I said wet. If you think it's safe, jack your front end up, and run your car at 70mph while spraying a water hose directly onto your filter. Does that sound retarded? It should.

I suppose if I told you that I wanted to install a water injection kit on my motor that that would be retarded as well, right?

take the interfooler off, cut the piping and install a filter so its hidden behind the bumper. Be interesting to see where the resonance bump lands on the dyno graph. The piping is quite small though. I believe its 2.5"

Re: Anyone using this cold air intake?
i had a hotshot intake on my PGT...thing sat 2 inches above the ground...i ran it like that all winter and never had a problem it handled puddles and everything just as well.
and the only real difference between this and a cone intake is the amount of piping and where it sits.
the amount of piping would be heat soak material. no longer a CAI now a Warm air intake. just stick with the regular cone filter.

After reading the problems others have had with the poor construction of this fake IC intake, i would have to say that it would be a giant "negative" in my opinion. When altering anything involving the airflow in your car, you want as little number of bends in the piping as possible. Also the less couplings the better, because you will maintain more vacuum through your rpm range.
