Default 99 Prelude not starting

I was driving the other night and may have heard a popping noise, and suddenly all electronics except the aftermarket radio when dim (Headlights and dash). I noticed it was overheating so i put it in neutral and tried to crank it, but to no avail. I waited about 30 minutes on the side of the road and it cranked back up.

The next morning I tried to get it to start to go to work but now all it does is turn over and over. If you give it gas it sounds more inclined to start but never does.
I did some looking and inspecting and all of the fluids are fine, but I found this curious hose I'm now thinking is the engine ground cable. I'm not sure though so I was hoping you guys could help me out.

Here's and album on google with all of the pictures:
https://plus.google.com/photos/10427...41256819114353
It's shared publicly so anyone should be able to access it.
The hose goes into a compartment on the passenger's side behind the battery. In the pictures it runs into the hole underneath the silver bracket with the silver bolts at the top of the pictures.

I'm no mechanic by any means so bear with me.
Thanks in advance.

Check for spark. If no spark, check the ecu fuses in the engine bay if they're blown. If not blown maybe your ignition coil blew or the ignition control module went out.

take off the distributor cap, have a friend watch it as you turn it over make sure the rotor spins properly .. if it doesnt, timing belt... if it does, then check for spark

Thanks guys I'll check in the morning. Weve already checked for a spark and no go. My dad suggested that maybe my main relay blew. Would that cause a burning smell? The smell was in the cabin for about a day, maybe day and a half.

Turns out after all of that there were atleast 2 bad spark plugs. After replacing all 4 it runs like a charm.

So an update, the spark plug wires apparently are bad, so my car is stuck 20 minutes away from where I live, and I need to know what one plug is that goes into the engine. If you're looking at it head on its right after the hose that runs from the engine to the air intake. It got worn out I guess and wont stay connected. I would take a picture but like I said my car is far away. My dad thought it had to do with the thermostat but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you post a picture I could probably identify it, I just need to know what it is because my car wont start AGAIN!

If you get a set of spark plug wires it will also include a coil wire which might be what you are referring to.
