82' Lude with a B16 swap

Re: 82' Lude with a B16 swap
too heavy, and id have to do a fair amount of work. ive already given it enough thought and have come to decide on the B-series engine. would be nice with the H22, but the power of the engine will just spin my wheels because it is such a light car.

you would have to do a fair amount of work either way. I never heard of a B16 in a 1G lude, doesn't mean it hasn't happened though.
google is your friend, but plan on A LOT of trial and error! Hmotorsonline.com is a good place to source your engine etc. I'd go with an H22

No replacement for displacement.
Personally I would slap together a B18A/B with a B16 head. Why not get the most out of a B?
Its been done.....Search around a little bit. HT is not the place for 1G questions. I know there is a site out there that caters more to the 70s/80s Hondas.

Go with a B18 out of an integra. I will try to find the link to the build but someone has done it. The physical dimensions are the biggest concern. Great suggestion on the H22, but it has been confirmed to be too big. Also consider that the engine in a first gen prelude is tilted at a 15 degree angle. The B18 is the best choice for easy mounting usin the motor mount brackets in the car. Also consider that the axles will need to be shortened and the hub ends will have to be changed to fit the Prelude hub spline.
