2001 Prelude Suspension..... what should I do??
I'm a newbie here so bare with me if my questions seem a little elementary.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with the suspension on my 5th gen Prelude.
I don't want to lower it too much due to the crappy roads we have up here in Edmonton, Canada and I already upsized to 17" wheels.
Someone passed on some Ground Control coil overs to me but I'm wondering if I should even bother with them if I don't want to lower the car much. I was thinking Koni yellows for shocks but I'm not sure about springs?
20 mm drop in the front and 15 mm drop would be plenty I'm thinking.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Go with sport springs if you don't want a significant drop. I have Neuspeed Sport Springs and have not had any problems with them as of yet. I got them cheap, but they serve the purpose.

If youre thinking about getting Konis anyway, and already have the GC sleeves, why don't you just get the springs from them anyway. Then you can tell them exactly what rates you want, and you can lower/raise the car as much as you'd like.

hmm if you already have the ground control coilovers you can raise or lower your car as much as you want. you can then choose whatever shock you want to damp the springs. ground control is a quality product, match em with quality shocks and you'll be set. so far as picking and choosing custom spring rates, you may want to try whatever's on the GC's at first and make your decisions from there.
after that add a sway bar and you should be done.

Thanks for the input folks.... I also called Ground Control to see what they think and they suggested I use Tokico HP or illuminas or KYB AJX if I want an adjustable shock. So I ordered the HPs they are in transit and we'll see how this setup works. They said that the Konis don't work as well with the Prelude kit. Fine by me the Tokico HPs are $300 cheaper than the Koni yellows.

I'm on GC adjustable sleeves and the tokico blues, and I like the ride. I had heard that the blues were not as durable as the Konis, but these have been on for about 2.5 years and done great. Especially considering the auto-xing and crucial 1 finger gap. I hope you'll be as happy w/ yours as I am with mine.

Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to setting it all up. Are you using the Tokico springs or the GC springs?
