Default So PISSED!!


Last time i rode my bike was on friday midnight and I havent rode my bike since than and I cannot find my only key.. I looked everywhere and I just cannot find it... wow this sucks.. What do i have to do in order to get the keys?? anybody??

its 99 yamaha r6

I know my suzuki key (i got 2)one of them has a number on it and they said i would need that number in order to gte a key i dont know if yamaha is diff.

yea i lost my key the DAY i left for korea so i couldnt move it to my friends shop. but he called honda and they asked for the number on the key. of course i didnt memorize it. so then he called a locksmith which cost like 80 bucks. blah.

but i really had no choice so i guess use the locksmith as a last resort

Just a shot in the dark but did you leave it in the keyhole that opens the trunk. Whenever I lose mine that is where it is.

haha naw i didn't leave it on a trunk.. i never use the trunk either.. man and the bike was used so i didnt have the key with the numbers on.. i guess i have to call the lock smith. do they just make a key out of at the spot or is this **** take like two weeks to get the key from lock smith?

naw it's really quick, don't worry about it. but then after you get a key you should probably go to yamaha and get that # for future reference.

then go on ebay and get a new ignition, gas cap and seat lock. shouldnt be more than $150 (i picked one up for $100 way back when)

Not sure about your bike, but on some of the newer bikes the key is bike specific, it is chipped and can not be duplicated

Let me ask a question.. how hard is it to pull out the ignition for 99 yamaha r6? do i have to take out front fairing, wind screen and all that ?

thank you eglovr, i'm not gonna take out my ignition... i guess i'll call this guy tomorrow and make it under 180 dollar to work on it.. i hope he takes my offer.. bleh..
