Rate this bike for me - 2004 CBR RR 600
A friend of a friend is looking to sell his bike, Im wondering if its a good enough deal. This is my 1st bike, I know how to ride, however Im not familiar with market pricing atm.
2004 Black CBR 600 RR
10k miles
Garaged, kept clean
Was tipped over once, in a parking lot, by some stranger. Messed up the fairings so it comes with new ones.
I beleive its stock otherwise. Hes asking $5000.
Thoughts, H-T?

you can get an 05 for that and get better looks (minor changes but better imo), inverted forks, better brakes, etc. id offer 4500 as said above otherwise go for the 05.

As a first street bike, it is very doubtful he will be able to utilize the stock 04 forks and brakes to their full potential so it's kind of pointless to get a higher performance version when the other will do just fine for a better price.
Just my .02.
I had an 04 for a while back in 04/05 and it was a damn good bike. Very stable, forgiving if you make a mistake, solid power but not overly powerful. All around it was probably one of my favorites I have owned from 600's to 1000's.

does he need the better suspension and brakes? no. does he NEED a 600rr? no. but if you can get more for the same price then you should, its good economics. if it cost more for the 05 then yeah the 04 is great and more than youll ever need.
