Motorcycle shipping
Anybody in here shipped a motorcycle before?
My good friend is pretty much giving me his 71 CB500K...but he's in PA and I'm in WA.
I've had some online quotes of around 700 bucks, but I know this can be done for much less.
What have you experienced?

Re: Motorcycle shipping
I've seen quotes as low as $400, but it really depends on which carrier and if you pack/crate it up yourself. There's a website that lets freight carriers bid on your requested shipment if they are already traveling your route. Can't remember the name of it but that'd be the way to go. Anyone have a link?

I've heard of that site...I'll have to look into it.
I had this carrier I used to ship a hood from here to Bronx, NY and I can't remember the name of it....they were about half the cost of any other carrier.
Here's a pic since people love pictures...

fly to Pa. ride it back home. problem solved. haha
i deal with ward, new penn, new century, ups freight, and fedex freight alot. i highly recommend that you crate the bike with 2x4 and 2x6 wood. and tag it "this end up" and "Do not double stack" cause ud be surprised how much drivers unload and bang around products. and make the crate pallet-jackable.

Re: Motorcycle shipping
My company shipped a Harley Sportster from CA to TX with JC Motors for about $500. It's not the cheapest but we had zero issues with the transport.

Re: Motorcycle shipping
Forward Air seems like the best deal so far. Between 4 and 600 bucks.
JC Motors wants about 715.
Waiting to hear back from one more carrier.
Thanks guys!
