Maryland riders
well i plan on getting my first bike and i already plan on getting a 600 i really want to get either a cbrr or gsxr... could anyone tell me what their personal opinions on these bikes are if they have one? Or if you have road both bikes that would be great. also i dont know if there is a for sale section but i couldn't find it but i have 2k for a bikeand by january i will have 3500 for a bike so if anyone has a good bike for a low price let me know and nothing before 2005... cause if anything i would just finance a new bike for and they have 09 gsxr for 8k down here...

Not trying to be a dick, but if you only have 3500 and want an 05 or newer, your probably out of luck. Unless the bike is a trashed stocker. IMO an 03-04 kawi zx 636 would be the perfect bike for your price and experience level. Just my .02

well i just google that bike it looks nice i wouldnt mind getting that but my bike of choice is the cbrr and gsxr. i would want to spend 5k on a used 06 when i can drop 4k and make payment for a few months i was just trying to take a shot in the dark. but i also wanted to know how miles on a bike works like can they still run well with high miles like a car?

Re: Maryland riders
First, since I am going to assume you did not read the sticky at the top of the forum, go here https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-motorcycles-26/all-beginners-newbies-asking-about-getting-new-bike-585065/ and read at least the first 3 posts, if you don't have the patience to read that then you certainly should not be riding.
Second, there are a LOT of reasons to start on an older bike: You will drop it, you will sell it and get a nicer one (the monetary loss will not be nearly as bad as a newer bike), you will learn more quickly, or all of the above.
Third, does that $3500 include the price of gear and insurance? If yes then you are really down on budget, and will certainly not be able to afford a newer bike.
Forth, it is human nature to want the best, newest, fastest, best looking thing on the market. I've drooled over many bikes, cars, cameras, you name it, over the years. But fact of the matter is, if this is something you truly love then you will do it on any bike you can get your hands on. Not saying that nice new R6 won't call your name, but you will realize that it's about the ride and not the newest, coolest bike out there.
Lastly, I and many of the others here in /26 may sound a bit high on our horse and a bit discouraging. But in honesty we just don't want to see another rider make the same mistakes that some of us did, or worse, get hurt. In the end it's your decision and this whole thread could be for nothing. Just remember we see these posts from new/aspiring riders like you ALL THE TIME, so be one of the few and take our advise, you'll be better off down the road.

Re: Maryland riders
You should do a lot of reading before even consider getting a bike.
I'm tired of always writing the same things, so to keep it short.
We dont want you to get killed because you got a bike you cant handle, or get hurt because you're squiding it up riding in shorts and sandals.
Get your gear, start on a small bike and progress upward until you can handle a 600cc.

Re: Maryland riders
Go ahead, finance and buy a brand new gixxah.
A real rider would appreciate and thank you later for the opportunity to get a new track bike for cheap.

Re: Maryland riders
thank you polishrifle for the advice but i did read the thread i was just asking if anyone had any personal opinions on the bike i have sat on both but never road them... also i have been riding dirt bikes for 4 years so i think i can handle a 600 i dont want anything more then that... im not trying to kill myself or be some type of hot shot i just want something that looks good next to my 06 eclipse gt and i have all the gear i need cause my next door neighbor gave me his extra gear he had a gsx 1000 an is getting a R1 come febuary. also i have 3500 + insurance which i already called up i planned on getting liability with theft which will cost me 320 for the year... i figured that if i dropped my bike i wouldnt call for them to fix a scatch/dent and if i totalled it then i probably wont be alive to get the money or way to messed up to ever want to ride again...

Re: Maryland riders
You sound like a complete jackass, you should try another forum if you want approval for the dumb **** you want to do. Riding dirt has nothing to do with riding on the street, you can not use a 600cc to its full potential, handle it as to not die, probably, but really use it, I doubt it.
Let me know when you want to sell the wrecked bike, im in the market for a cheap trackbike.
