83 NH cb550sc-crankshaft/rods question
so, im restoring an 83 honda nighthawk cb550sc, doing a full engine rebuild at the moment. my question is regarding the crankshaft rods, and the letter that appears on the very top of the counterbalance weight.
my original crankshaft has a D on it. my new one has an E, or a B on it. cant really tell.... i needed new rods as the originals were warped. caps wouldnt come off nor go back on without a big fight.
so if my new one has an E or B on it, do i need to use the E or B rods? and should i swap bearings in the casing? or does it really just depend on the oil clearance tolerance specs or whatever? sorry, bad with this whole tech stuff.
i have the clymer manual, it just doesnt give me this info, but i read that its ok to switch bearings around as long as the bearings have proper clearance....? is this correct? thanks, and again sorry for the dumb questions
