Default Has anyone converted a US Fit to right hand drive?

I am thinking about buying a new Fit. My problem is that I need to use it for work as well as pleasure. I am a mail carrier and need a Right Hand Drive vehicle to deliver my route. It is a 50 mile route, so the gas mileage of the Fit is very appealing as well.

You can try buying a surplus RHD Civic from the City of Los Angeles. They use it for Parking enforcement and some of the units are hybrid or CNG powered. Less hassle.

N1concepts has a some in Cali and A&J Racing in Canada might have a couple to. You can register any car you want it just depends on how much money its gona cost you and how many hoops you gota jump thru in whatever state you live in. There is a few rhd Fits runnin around the states already...

registering an rhd isnt necessarily illegal its just not always done 100% legal... registering an imported rhd in a state could be easy depending on the state but actually going through EPA certification tests and NHTSA evaluations could be way to expensive and just difficult ... hint hint, probably need a lot of body reinforcement and safety equipment and a cat at a minimum. so i would try to get my hands on a jazz and half *** register it in a state like missouri, arkansas, mississippi, florida and im sure there are other states that are easy to get registration for. the problem is most states dont check to see if a car meets EPA and NHTSA standards so your taking a risk... one day u might get a call or a letter in the mail from the FEDS telling you your vehicle is not 100% legit and could get seized... so basically the US GOV is very homo when it comes to imports... but registering in a state only and jumping through the gov vehicle standard hoops is like sex panther... 60% of the time... it works everytime! hahah

The problem about shipping a Fit from japan would be with the front bumper not passing inspection...

I love old bumped threads...

I'm currently living in Okinawa Japan and I'll be here for the next 4 yrs, when I return to the states I'm hacking up my fit and taking the entire front clip over to convert a us fit to RHD.
