I am New here... Son just bought a used CR-V & he dropped part of funnel in Tranny!??
Son just got done changing Transmission fluid in his 2001 Cr-v...
I guess there was a small piece of blue plastic funnel extended on the funnel he was using (his dad's funnel)..( 2 -3 inches long) ...he didn't even realize it dropped INTO THE Transmission -until later today when his Dad was asking where that piece went.. he is worried now..
All excited about his car.. then this happened just a couple days later....he is not sure what to do !!..
Will the tranny fluid just EAT this up.. no problem...or could it jam something.. if he drains it.. will it come out - or may get stuck ??
Can anyone advise us what to do ??
Thank you so much!

That really kind of blows... all I can say for certain is it's not coming out without dropping and cracking open the trans.
UNLESS... has he removed the dipstick and looked in there with a flashlight? Maybe he's stupid lucky and it's jammed in there and he can get it out somehow.

Yes.. it does BLOW ... just hope it doesn't blow the tranny ! We drained it -- and duct taped a long part of a funnel on my good sucking vacuum.. just trying to do what is a "long shot"....
Got an inch of tranny fluid in my vacuum anyway!....but no such luck...
Whomever invented these stupid funnels with extra small parts that can come off during use - just a really BAD BAD idea ...
Son has been reading.. so far many have posted doing this.. various vehicles.. only ONE so far that he's seen had a BAD Transmission issue a week later.. hope he'll be one of the lucky ones here.

Stupid question...I am just the Mom asking.. but does the CR-V have a transmission PAN that can be taken off under the car to see if it got caught in there ??

Chances are it’s stuck just below the filler hole, suggest you use a torch and grabber and have a feel around. See link below for what I mean about a grabber tool.
My lad once dropped a screw down a spark plug hole and with a little patience we retrieved it in the end, so best of luck.

There is no "Pan" like for oil. It just sits in the case. Might have to unbolt the trans from the motor and shift it slightly to gain access. Has he driven it with the tube in there? If he has then it could be anywhere but if not then it's probably reachable with the above posted method.

No pain, just a drain plug. You'll need to remove the tranny and crack it open. Sorry no way around it if he hasn't removed it by now.
