ANY IDEAS
I just put on the Colorado Mountain rally 2 inch lift front and rear with OEM struts and springs. The rear is clearly too high and I can't figure out why. I know the kit is a 2 inch lift all around and is supposed to add a little extra in the rear to compensate for sag but this clearly does not seem right. I did not mistake the front for the rear spacers as they are different shapes and they are not in upside down. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Do you have any rubbing with the front tires using the zero offset wheels and 7mm spacer with the 215s? Could you post a couple more pictures from front/back to see your wide stance look? Thanks.

Also, if you order direct from dobinson in Australia, you can get a 40mm front/rear suspension lift kit shipped for a 2002 V within a week. $184 per pair, $200 international shipping. That's from an inquiry I made in Feb, 2015.

So I am torn between the EMU springs and the coloradomoutainrally lift kit. Both are close enough in price to each other. Anybody have experience with both? Preferences? I want to run the rsx rims I got with some 215/60/16 grabber at tires. Possibly bigger. Thanks guys!

In my opinion it really depends on how much work you want to put into it. If you buy the CMRally spacers, it's basically plug and play.

If you buy OME springs, you have to disassemble your entire coil spring/strut assembly, which takes me about an hour per spring. I also have air tools and a spring compressor.

My OME springs haven't came yet (will be here Thurs), so I don't know how it rides/handles. But from what I have read from other people they seem to handle pretty nice.

I have the CMR and I'm pleased with it. The ride is pretty much true to original. Let's face it - this 1st Gen CRVs never rode great in the first place. The A/T tires are great compared to normal tires that were on it. I only have slight rubbing on full tilt in the front which doesn't really occur that often and I could fix if choose to with a little work under the fender... The only 2 issues I have - despite the difference in sizes of the spacers for the front and back - I still have some rear sag without anyone in the car or any weight. It's not bad but it is noticeable if your paying attention. The other is that the shop that installed everything couldn't get a good alignment on it so at 55-70, you have some very noticeable wheel shake. I got another shop that I'm going to have look at it when I'm ready to rotate the tires.

I took off the 7 mm spacers. I didn't think I had enough turns on the lugs to be safe. When they were on, the wheels did stick out good bit past the fender flares yet I had no rubbing in the front. Now I wasn't exactly doing any big jumps either. My wheels are alloys and the spokes curve outward therefore clearing the brakes without spacers. It's my understanding however that the steel Craeger's which make more of a bowl will need some spacers to clear the front brakes. Also after the lift, the tires tend to pull in under the car some. Unfortunately I did not check into ordering direct from Davison. My new adjustable fully loaded struts(courtesy CMR) are due in on Monday. The plan is to attach the CMR spacers(too big) to the rear adjustable struts and dial the struts back one half to 1 inch until the rear is level with the front. Should be done next week will post pictures next week.

Good to hear no rubbing. I've been doing a lot of research on what offset to use. With the 215 size tires, I think one can get away with a more aggressive offset, and keep the versatility that makes the CR-V so great. Your V looks good.

She's aliveee!!! *insert evil laugh here* OME springs, and 1.5"~ (I think?) HDPE "cutting board" spacers in the rear. Also new inner and outer tie rods, front sway bar links, and custom exhaust (in progress)

Happy St. Patty's day! Time for a drink!

Hey all! I'm lifting my crv TODAY! It's a 1998 2 wheel drive. I have 12 inch coils for the back and 10 inch for the front with adjustable sleeves going all the way around. I'm going to use 235/75/15s and when they wear out I'll move up to 30's. The rims are a 1995 Jeep Wrangler 9 hole. I can't figure out to post pictures but when I do I'll get them up! It's name is the Tofu Supreme because my girlfriend and I are vegetarians.

Was wondering this myself just the other day. Pics of side bars? Can we start a new crv for sale thread?

My V.

Specs:
-15x7 Enduro wheels, -6 offset
-General Grabber 215/75 r15 tires
-Halo efx matte black paint

*There is absolutely no rubbing even with the low offset. I used a heat gun on the front inner fender well plastic before mounting the wheels just to see how much space it would buy me. There would be no rubbing even without the heat gun molding. Moving to a 225 tire would require some molding, but would probably fit with no rubbing. The heat gun is a great tool for the 2nd gens, as the entire inner fender plastic is a $20 dollar replacement part and looks better than trimming.

If you're a 2nd gen owner and you want to do aftermarket stuff and have questions, get ahold of me. I put about 3 months of research, mostly into wheels and tires, into this V before moving on any after market mods.

Got an email from Colorado Mountain saying they were missing a piece of my lift kit so they are waiting on another one from the machine shop. So back to waiting.

IF they have the materials in stock at the time to make them, then it doesn't take long at all. it only took me a week to get mine after i ordered them.

As long as we're talking CMR here is my current progress. Obviously their 2 inch spacers for the second-generation CRV (2002 - 2006) are too tall in the rear see my previous pictures. They kindly gave me free of charge some preloaded coil overs that were adjustable. They are probably to lower a Honda Civic 4 inches and they came from CMR lowered 2 inches to account for the excessive lift with the spacers. They were installed today and had to be lowered the full 4 inches to level out the CRV still with a little rake high in the back. They now offer these adjustable coil overs on their website and strongly recommend to be used with second-generation lift kits. When these things all put together and the alignment is done I'll post pictures.

why the hell wouldn't they just not make them as tall instead of selling coilovers with them? sounds like a shitty way to get an up sell

On the 2nd gen CRV there is a shroud the strut goes into and the spacer is designed with a lip that is necessary and will not fit into the shroud. So the spacer has to be long enough to clear the shroud (too long). Although there appears to be some room for shortening the spacer, it is flush with the shroud on the inside. I just hope the fully lowered adjustable coil overs aren't so compressed that they give a rough ride. Name: image.jpg

I think the people over at CMR need to lay off the weed.

I agree. It would have been a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to just extend your top hat studs, and make your own 2" (or however tall you want) spacer and call it a day. I did it on the rear of my gen 1.

Also, why does it need to clear the shroud? Why can't it just go up into the shroud like a normal top hat?

So if they're selling it as a 2" spacer... then it should just give 2". Looks like ya got at least 6 more inches...

I dont know what shroud he is talking about. All i did was shape to the top hat put longer bolts And this is the end result for the front and rear making my own non fancy spacers. And all it cost me was around 40 bucks or so. The rest was crusing getting mad crusing some more for hours with the rear

I'm just going by his pics. I have a gen 1. Took me like 10 minutes to install my home made spacers.
