So I have a 1st gen leveling kit from Colorado Mountain Rally. It shouldn't be all that tough to install if anyone is interested in it. I don't have any use for it. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Anybody use a CMR spacer kit in conjunction with Ironman or OME springs?

My crv has 340,000kms on it and I'm pretty sure it's all factory suspension, I put a 2" rear shock tower spacer in and a 1.5" front to lift it,

I'm running 225/75/15" tires

I just bought brand new OEM replacement shocks all around, do you guys think that would give it enough lift as it is without having to run the lift blocks?

Shocks wont change the height at all, only springs can do this. If your suspension is old then it will be the springs that have sagged rather than the shock

well my springs and shocks now are totally effedddd, they are sagging really bad and the fronts have 1 broken coil on the front sping , so I was just wondering if the new springs being brand new (and shocks not leaking either) that it's going to be a bit heigher and stiffer so I don't have the hassle of putting the lift blocks in

JDM --- If your looking to lift your CRV, then you will need to either purchase the lift options such as the body spacers or lift springs. If you go to a shop and get replacement OEM parts, most likely, your ride height is not going to change.

That said it's all together now, looks great, but i'm getting a lot of strange noises coming from the rear at low speeds when the weight of the car shifts, not necessarily when I go over large bumps. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I'll probably be replacing the struts in the rear to see if it solves anything.

Has anyone else that has installed this kit noticed any knocking noises from the suspension?
When I did mine, I replaced the rear struts and rear sway bar links. Still squeaks and makes noise. But then again, I have a Gen1 and this damn thing has squeaked and made noise from the day we drove it off the lot.

On HondaSUV they had a fix for rear squeaking. It's actually the damper for the rear door that is loose when closed. You would need to add some washers to take up the slack. You can move it a little and see what i'm talking about.

Well, still no word from kevin from cmr... So, I decided to bring the back down by clipping a coil from the spring cause I did not want to go through the labor of removing the spacer and I didn't want to spend more money and downtime having the spacer machined down. So far, it's much better than how it was. For those of you with the spacers for the 2nd gen, wait till you have to slam on your brakes on the freeway. It's not fun. Got pretty squirrely.

Here's some pics

after

you can see the coils by the front wheel.

Have a 98' CR-V black factory rims painted, factory roof rack, bull bar with fogs, and now looking for running boards, any out there?

Post a pic or two...

I'm not sure. If you scroll back through this thread (although long), I believe there were some discussions on running boards. I believe I recall that the actual Honda CRV ones are no longer available.

just as i expected. (from my previous posts)

i changed my front strut assemblies today (with the 1.5" lift blocks) and the front end went from 5" fender gap to 8" fender gap. so now the front is jacked up huge compared to the rear (still have to do the rear struts)

but now when i turn and accelerate my axles are binding like crazy, i have positive camber in the front causing the steering to be very erratic, and when i go over a small bump there is a crazy banging sound like a sledge hammer is hitting the bottom of the car.

SOOOO im going to be taking the lift blocks out seeing how that changes things

Try putting the thicker ones in the rear and thinner ones in the front.

The 1.5" spacers have always been in the front and 2" in the rear. I just took the spacers off the front and it's at almost the exact same height (a bit lower) as the old struts+spacers.

now I've taken them out it rides soooo much nicer, I just need to trim the bumper as it catches on full lock

That rear looks like it'd rub like crazy! I had to put a 1/2" spacer in to make sure it doesn't catch the rear tires when the car is full and hitting any bumps.
