I think springs are the best way to go. OME has awesome springs for first Gen. You can use them with their shocks or keep your factory shocks. Springs give you more travel. OME quit making second Gen springs so I ordered a set from their competitor Davison also in Australia but they never came in so I had to switch to spacers. If you are in Murica,Spain I don't know if shipping would be better or worse.

Ummm Hi guys! First post on HT (as crazy as that is) and I can't believe it's in the CR-V forum of all places lol! I've had Honda's for years (cough 20 years) and have lurked here for ages. I've had Nitrous EF, Boosted D EG, Built Boosted B18 EK, and after all that I'm back in the Honda game with a Stock CR-V (and a family now) I've had the V for 2 weeks now and I've already got some 15x8 4.5bs rims on there. Running a 205 70 tire currently as I decide what to do with this project. So far I'm undecided if I wanna go up or down with it. I'm gonna fab up some 2" spacers for the lift regardless as I look for some Accord coilovers. Anyways figured I would pop in and say Harro as I'll probably be fairly active in the V forums.
I'll get some pics up once I'm allowed.
Oh right... 99 Black AWD.... Putting my B16 head on next week hopefully
Berz out.

I would be cautious with the Gen-2 rear CMR spacers. Mine were way too high based upon the design and now the fix of adjustable coil over is highly recommended on their website. Christianva why don't you just send them back, CMR accepts returns if you're not fully satisfied. Josh with all my problems with the Gen-2 CMR rears I was able to communicate with the owner and I will PM you his email.

Sorry to hear that Josh. My V is in the shop today getting the swaybar connection rods replaced. It got a little clunky after the lift. I hope your lift kit comes in soon.

16 MPG
Just had my first chance to check the city mileage since the lift and bigger tires. I drove mainly in the city all week. I'll admit a little aggressive and sporty, but 16 mpg really! Does anyone have any idea if the larger tires would have a significant impact due to a larger circumference not accounted for by the odometer?

Example: if you have a 1st gen and switch to 235/75r15 tires and fill up after 200 miles according to your odometer, you actually drove 220 miles.
Thus, your 16 mpg may actually be 18 mpg.

albeit 16 mpg sounds huge...

Thanks for the link micwill. It was set on the exact conversion I needed. It turns out when I do the math my mileage goes from 16 mpg to 17 mpg. Not sure I understand your statement - is "huge" hugely good or bad?

mine with correction for tire size gets about 18 mpg in town if i stay out of it. normal tanks of in town driving are around 17. highway is mid 20s though if it's not windy

These mpgs are fairly close to the epa figures, so no surprise.
1st gen crv has poor mpg compared to the competition.
Supposedly skid plates improve mpg.
