Will 88 CRX Si door panels fit 90-91 doors?
I just did the pillar seatbelt conversion on my 90 CRX Si. Someone is selling a nice set of 88 Si door panels with the side pockets. Now that the seatbelt assembly is removed from the door, will the thinner 88 panel fit or am I missing something?
Searched but did not find the answer.

im not sure if they will fit. but seeing as you already removed the seat belt assembly they should. what you could do is take the passenger side door panel off and take your car to who ever is selling the door panels and test fit it.

hold on after re-reading your post i dont think they will work, mainly because i believe the 88 doors are slightly longer than the 89-91 doors. can any one confirm this?

88 or jdm doors will not solve his problem. the shape of the door will physically close on a 89-91 body, but not properly...door seal and shape is different. best solution is to modify the top of the door itself to accept the 88 panels. that way your doors seal. only about 1/2 in. of metal needs to be reworked near the pillar on the inside. i had to do this to fit my edm panels to my 91. fits perfectly and it's clean.

Re: Will 88 CRX Si door panels fit 90-91 doors?
they wont fit. if you try to fit 88 crx doors with pillar mounted seats onto a door mounted 90-91 crx the outline where the door meets the quarter panel has a different shape, the 88 on the 90-91 crx will be too big and your going to have to dent in the door to improperly fit it, so it would be vise versa for the other 90-91 door onto 88. that means youll run the door panel into the crease and **** them up..... So the answer is no, i wouldnt kill your perfectly great crx for some dumb door panels. just get the 88, and drill the pockets into the panel.

Bring back from the dead just to update:
88 USDM, 88-91 EDM & 88-91 JDM CRX panels will fit into 89 DX/Si & 90-91 CRX's IF AND ONLY IF you do the following:
1. Relocate the seatbelt to the pillar.
2. Trim about 1 square inch where the 88 panel meets the pillar.
Everything else lines up except for 2 plastic clips at the bottom because of where the seatbelt was in the original USDM door. Just don't use those clips.
Here's how they are stacked up and you can see what you need to trim, bottom is EDM panel (which is same as any other panel from CRX with pillar mounted seatbelt):
Again, CRX door panels only. Don't ask me about EF Hatch or Sedan.
