Default Tool for O2 sensor?

I have read conflicting information condering this when I search. I have heard I need a 7/8" wrench, or a 22mm wrench, or an O2 sensor tool. I would prefer not to remove the fan, but if I have to I will. Can anyone confirm the tool needed?

22mm wrench works...but the tool is your safest bet.

Go ahead and get the O2 sensor Socket and save some time.

The O2 sensor tool is ~$10 at most discount auto places or Harbor Freight tools. It makes removing the sensor much easier, because it is difficult to get a regular wrench so close to the manifold and still have room to turn it.

you can check out an o2 sensor for free at autozone (they charge $16 to your c.c. and refund it when you bring it back)

7/8" = 22mm roughly.

the 02 sensor tool is only worth it if you are using an impact gun, or really need to use a cheater bar, which is used instead of a normal socket.

the issue is the sensor wire that prevents using a normal socket.

i prefer just using a 22mm box end wrench tho.

Thanks guys. I think I'll start with buying the 22mm open ended box wrench, and if this is unsuccesful, rent/buy the actual tool.

make sure it has a BOX end wrench, not just an OPEN ended crescent. usually its a "combo" at each end anyway.
