Default Steering rack shot...Should I get another Si rack or a HF??

My steering rack is shot and my friends shop has a HF rack, I heard that the HF rack is a better one to use and will have a better feeling to it and has fewer turns to lock. My car is a 90 crx si, what would you guys recommend I replace it with?? Anyone that has ditched their Si rack for a HF rack, any comments on the difference??

I know mine is shot cause first off, my friend that works on honda's for a living told me it is and second I can feel it, the steering is all sloppy, it feels like it is skipping teeth or something. I just had my allignment done yesterday because I had some major toe-out issues with the right front wheel (they said it had 1" toe out), so they fixed that and everything was cool, then later in the day I do a u-turn and all the sudden after that my steering wheel is all slanted to one side and the car wants to pull a little.

But anyways, I heard that some people use the HF rack cause it feels tighter when turning and more responsive. I guess some people in road racing use the HF rack from what I understand. But I want to hear some comments on people that have swapped out for a HF rack.....

as far as i know you can get the es bushings to fix teh "sloppy" steering feel. that's what my plan is.

The HF rack does have a slightly better ratio. I would get it if it was my car. About the only downside will be a bit more effort to turn the steering wheel when not moving. This was not an issue on a stock HF because of the tiny tires, but if you have something like 205/50/15's and a small 12" momo steering wheel, it will be a bit tougher to steer when barely moving.

The swap is a direct bolt in. It didn't even have to remove the exhaust

i think that the HF and Si racks are the same. the reason the HF has quicker steering is cuz they have skinnier wheels than the Si. and the Civic and CRX racks should be the same too...

The HF and DX racks are the same the Si is different. Which is better I do not know. I have always heard that the HF was the way to go. That being said maybe I am setting pretty with my DX.

Actually, according to both Majestic and Bell Honda the steering gear boxes are different.
