SRT-4 vs Honda
I like how people driving the "Me To" car of America are bashing the SRT-4. How did the Civic get "Me To" status?
"Hey, what car do you drive?"
"A Honda Civic?"
"Me to!"
Just accept the fact that your Honda Civic (Me To car) is a piece. I don't care if you have a Civic Si, Vtech, Hatchback or whatever other Civic trash is out there. An SRT-4 will smoke you and leave your $400 Maxwell House coffee can exhaust in the dust. Don't roll up to SRT-4 and expect to race. I will go home and get my ride'em lawnmower and race your Civic, there pretty close in horsepower. "It's still a Neon." Hm...when you look around the car, do any of the badges say NEON? Nope, it says SRT-4. Do all Neon's come with 230hp...no. The wing on the SRT-4 is very close to the wing on the Supra's. You think the SRT-4 is ugly? You think your screamin cat exhaust system, your body kit, low horsepower civic is cool? Haha. Just accept the fact that almost any American car can demolish an import. Look at movies like fast and furious 2....Those muscle cars against the evo and eclipse get torched. Any V6 or V8 will destroy your rice. Hell, Z24 Cavaliers will beat Civics. Yeh, you can run you import for 200,000 miles because it cant produce power. American cars are good for 100,000 miles cause they can run and run fast. So, if you roll up with your hooked up RSX, Eclipse, stupid Civic, Interga, you might as well go to a Middle School, rev your engine and think your cool. Don't bring your import to the line. Don't bring your 350Z, RX-8 or whatever high price car to the line. Porsche Boxter owners might want to think twice also, and yes, it has been proven that SRT-4's can take Boxters. Given the Boxter is the slowest of the Porsches, it's still a Porsche. Sorry for bashing cars, but you need to understand the SRT-4 isn't a regular Neon. Just accept the SRT-4, and the only Honda you should own is a lawnmower. It's whats under the hood that matters, not what body kit and rims you have. It may look nice, but it aint fast. If it does both, props again. This won't be the "Me To" car ever, cause they aren't making thousands and thousands..it took me 3 weeks to find one. Then again, it takes 3 weeks to find anything in jersey.

Oh yeh, little race story for you. Some guy thinking he's cool in his Civic (which if he is driving a Civic, doesnt say much about him) rolls up to me, rolls down his window at a stop light and says,
"Nice little Neon you have there, it's cute."
I replied
"Nice rice, did Uncle Ben make that for you. Oh yeh, you left your hubcap spinner back there."
He decided to rev his car for only god knows. I reved mine and let the BOV noise hit him in his face. The light turned green, and the Civic exploded off the line. He was to far for me to see.......in my rear view mirror. Of course in Jersey, you can't go more then 1 mile without a traffic light. So at the next light, the Civic, tired from catching up, stops at the light and wants to chat again.
"Damn, that thing is f-ing fast, and it's a Neon."
and I said,

He saved himself the embarresment and turned into a Wall-Mart, probably to buy his muffler and hook up his Uncle Ben. If you drive an Import, crash it and get a SRT-4, you might be able to get like $2,000 insurance money for your car. People, try to look past your trash in the driveway and realize that a SRT-4 is not a neon. No neon badge. In magazine's, its called the Dodge SRT-4. Check out dodge.com if you want.

after reading this entire post...i'm in awe of the fact your mother didn't drown you in the bathtub as a child. i used to bash hondas too due to the "me too" thing but after getting into them, it just makes sense. cheap, reliable, easy to make power and stay streetable and the aftermarket was MADE for hondas.

If you shove a big *** 4 cylinder and turbo that it will be fast in any car. If the new Civic came with a turbo K24 it would be raping SRT-4s now wouldn't it. Apples and oranges.

In respone to this guy excited about his new car... The fact is that hondas last longer because they are built to more precise tolerances than any american car. And, as far as power, we can bolt any type of f/i on a honda motor and be just as fast as these American power houses. I noticed he mentioned "to the line". Thats fine if all you do is go straight. As far as handling, our suspension design is much more advanced than any american car I've been under. So take it to the twisties and learn a lesson in lateral g's. I have been working on domestics with my father since I was 8 yrs old, so I know my way around american muscle.....I drive honda cars because I like them, they are reliable, & there are alot of off the shelf parts available. Not because everyone else does. Did you every think everybody has one because they are just good cars? Am I bashing american cars?...No, but it's about time they started cathing up.

yeah man, that car is cool and all, it does come with a lot of power stock. all car should be respected for what they are. hondas are just little introductory cars, but they are quick. with just a little work put in the right place, they become pretty quik.....I am not trying to talk crap or anything like my car is fast. but for what it is...it makes the owner happy to have something cheap, quick, and reliable..
