I'd try a tps first. Whats the Year and engine of your car?

On second thought, I think if you replace the TPS you need to get the whole damn throttle body.

it is possible to replace just the TPS cause i did it i had to drill off the head of the bolt and then took off the TPS and unscrewed the rest of the bolt with pliers and put the new one in with actual bolts not rivet looking bolts

Maybe, but you'll need to go to a junkyard and get one and figure out a way to secure it to the throttle body.

Ive been having the same problem, car wont rev over 3k starts to back fire. but my ecu is throwing a code 4 (crank position sensor). Everyone was telling me it was the distributor, so i replaced that with a whole unit brand new, still same [freak]in problem. However my tps was broke when i did the swap, so i replaced it....bought it from blox racing on ebay brand new, you can also get it from a place called streetimports.com, however their customer service and shipping sucks complete *** as well as most of there products. anyway i replaced the tps as well still same [freak]ing problem. Probubly just dont have it set properly. But people been telling me timing, tps, or distributor.

when you start your car dose it idle high then drops and keeps doing it. if it dose then try this turn the car off disconnect the connection to yout tps then re start you car if the car idel is smooth and steady then its your tps.
i would try this befor going and opening the back to check out your gas\fuel pump.
good luck
omni power makes tps and they sell them if you were to buy it from the dealer you would have to pay big bucks they sell it with the throttl body only

Check all of your wiring, bad connections will alter the voltage signal that the ECU is looking for and will give you codes. Use solder and heat shrink for the best results.

so did you ever get this problem figured out? I too had this same problem when I swapped a single cam ZC into my DX hatch. I was gettin the crank angle sensor trouble code on my ECU and replaced my distributor as well with a brand new one because the crank angle sensor is built into the distributor. I gave up on the problem and took the engine back out for a future b series swap. I still have my ZC laying around and still want to fix it.

Cant rev past 3k is limp mode. usally somthing big is not working right. Most time its the injector wireing. like loose plug ect.. Also to take the tps off grind a slit into the rivet looking heads that are holding the tps on and use a flat head and remove it, its a screw.

i had the same exact problem....once it hit a 3k rpm it would jump to 6k then its ready to bog out....i replaced the tps sensor but it wasnt it so i started messing with all my wires and it was a lose ground wire.....i suggest messing with ur wires while the car is on
