Re: smoke i need help! (91sihatchback)
Like I said, you might be getting antifreeze in your cylinders, which means you broke your headgasket, cracked your head or your block, but normall, blown headgasket. If its the stock headgasket, it will happen sooner or later.
your only supposed to rev your engine so high and it will cut out because its hard on it TO KEEP IT UP THAT HIGH!! Floating valves and crap. They're not fun, plus your engine stops making power after so much.
Check your oil, if you have a blown headgasket it should look like this, but white smoke is NOT normal...

I had a '90 hatch that was losing about a quart of water every 50 miles (mostly highway, 70 mph). It was smoking blue-white cuz it was burning oil and water. Lost a quart of oil every 200 miles. Oil looked fine, not milky. I put in 1/2 a can of Blue Devil sealer and idled for 40 minutes, then drove it 1200 miles to Alabama the next day. It never needed another drop of water, and it smoked less, although it still burned oil about the same rate. Could have been a small gasket leak or a hairline crack in the head (only would show up if Magnafluxed). Rob

Re: (rflum)
i had a similar problem with my 89 civic dx, but i was smoking when i down shifted from 4 to third when exiting a freeway or something, it turned out to be my valve stem seals, it took me half a day to figure out how to replace them and do it, and i have not smoked since...
