Reasons WHY A/C should be kept in our cars.

Reasons WHY A/C should be kept in our cars.
starting off, i apologize if theres a thread already like this(i'm almost certain there is, since theres no such things as a 'new topic' on HT)so..
recently i just did a b16 swap, and i listened to my dad and chose to remove the entire A/C assembly, but my peers tend to think otherwise, so i'm just taking your opnion on:
WHY the A/C should be kept in our cars?
typical answers i've gotten are, (definately not good enough reasons):
-i live in hell and it gets hot here..so i need a/c cuz i'll melt any second now
-i cant stand the numerous amount of frost build up on my windows, which can be removed w/o using the a/c and/or using those rain-x anti-fog wipes
any other reasons?
First poll was: *** THE AC

i probably would the ac lines get in the way regardless they make a 5 min process of changing out a radiator 4 times as long

F'n Hot and Humid here in Texas... I'm a hard-core autocrosser, and my AC saved me from the serious kind of heat exhaustion.
I'm certain that removing it could be worth a 10th of a second or so...maybe more, but if I'm overheated inside my helmet, I'm likey lose that 10th or so anyways.
I figure one day I might go north to Kansas for a real competition with money to be won, and at that point, I'll consider taking the AC out, at least temporarily.

Enough said. I live in TX and I can vouch for this.
A lot of us here in this forum use our EF's as our daily cars.
Now if your EF is your race car/track *****...that's a different story.
All I'm saying is that since my EF is my daily car, it's always going to have A/C.
Nothing like showing up to work drenched in your own sweat

It's up to you!
Don't listen to what other people think. We all live in different climates.
If you really need the extra power just disconnect the system.
Just remember, the Enzo Ferrari doesn't come with A/C or a radio.
Peace

Re: (Ace$nyper)
Mine didn't come with any, and I have no reason to add it. There are those that will argue that LV is super hot in the summer, but I only live a mile from work. In the time it takes for the A/C to get cold, I am already at my destination. What's the point? All other times I drive are at night, and no need for it then. Nobody rides with me, I don't have to worry about anybody elses comfort level. I use the heater in the winter, no need for A/C when it is 30 degrees outside regardless how long the drive is.
BTW, she is my Daily Driver and I am quite happy to drive without A/C during the summer time in Las Vegas! I stop at the 7-11 and get a slurpee, that is more than enough to stay cool for longer drives.

The car is way easier to work on with all the extra crap outa there. I can pull a motor in under an hour w/o it. First thing I do when I get an EF rip out all the AC junk. It gets kinda hot here in the summer, but 2 open windows and an open sunroof, not a problem. Atleast as long as your not stuck in gridlock. BTW I don't have heat either, I guess I'm a minimalist, of sorts.

do you use ac a lot? do you care more about being comfortable than eeking every bit of performance out of your car (if you do, why did you buy an ef...?)
my lack of ac cost 175 NOT to have. it was a dealer deleted option. never missed it.

thats how i roll i hate clutter in an engine bay, so ac is the first thing to go, then the battery gets relocated, wire tuck, windshield wiper fluid box, and anything else that needs the boot.
