IIRC, there are instructions in the Helm's manual for disassembly. Download the PDF shop manual and search for it. Good luck.

usually ive dropped the steering rack. you loosen the pinch bolt at the U joint, but the pinion thats inside the steering rack will drop with the rack.

There is a black cover with 2 clamps near the pedals. Remove it and you will see 2 bolts. Remove the bottom one and you should be able to drop the rack and the pinion should slide right out.

remove the steering column covers, remove the lower u-joint bolt, pop the tie rod ends off the knuckle, and remove the 4 bolts holding the steering rack to the body.

make sure the drivers side tie rod is puched all the way in the steering rack so it can be pulled to the left and dropped out.

actually, NO.

the complete housings are interchangeable between models. but the rack and pinion (two separate pieces) itself will not work in each other's housings.

the Si has variable ratio and the pinion has a different dimension to it and does not swap over.

if youre talking about the WHOLE steering rack, then it will interchange, but theyre not the same.
