Question with vtec.. i swapped out my b16a and dropped in a Jdm gsr (b18c). LOOK =)
i have an 88 crx and bought it with a jdm b16a (obd0). vtec was already working and i have no idea what harness is being used..
i took out my b16 (vtec was fine) and i dropped in a obd1 ('95) jdm gsr. i put my p72 ecu in with a jumper harness and obd1 dizzy with a jumper harness. the ecu jumper harness has the wires extended to hook up a vtec controller with detachable clips in between so i can take out my vtec controller when i get home or whatever.
my question is.. Do i have to do anything like run wires, depinning ect. to make vtec pop/work? cause vtec isnt working. Also, the wires for my vtec controller (apexi vafc2) are not the same colors as the wires extended for a vtec controller for some odd reason which i think is stupid.. and stupid of me to lose the damn paper that may of said so haha
Thanks in advance H-T
and Yes i've searched and grew a bit confused since i already had vtec hooked up and working with a b16..

to find a problem you must systematically check everything and eliminate possibilities by a process of elimination.
do you have a CEL?
have you checked and verified continuity for the wiring at the ecu to all engine wiring?
do you know if the ecu wiring is going to the appropriate plug/sensor?
do you have a working speedo, and have that hooked up to the proper pin on the ecu?
try swapping vtec solenoids and see if that fixes the issue?
try to eliminate the vtec controller because if you dont know what wires go where, how can you be sure you have it connected correctly?
