my battery is not a good one. it will not crank over the cold/thicker oil in the mourning. during the day its good. so every night i disconnect the negative terminal. ive done this for some time now. i have even gone as far as installing a "quick release" product for the negative terminal. i do not yet have the budget for a new battery.

my question is if i install a in car kill switch. can i not have to pop the hood and disconnect the negative terminal->anymore?

yes. that is the point of said switch.

make sure you get a switch that can handle the current, and thick wiring.

and do it on the negative side only.

if you put a kill switch on the positive side, the wiring will melt, I know I've done it when I was car retarded.

I think your real problem is a drain on the battery....unhooking it does what exactly to help it crank a cold car? It stops whatever is draining it all night from sucking power and therefore making your car crank normally. I'd look into what's draining your battery.

its the alarm system and the clock that are draining the battery. they are not big enough to drain a battery most would say but they are draining a battery that is weak and needs to be replaced. in the event i forget to disconnect the negative terminal. the next mourning the car will crank but will not turn over.

yes it does. mid day after some driving. the voltage will be at 12.6v

Park on a hill and pop the clutch. The time you spend on all these switches you could do an odd job and buy the battery.

no hills if i were to buy a new battery i would stillend up installing a kill switch. so its inevidable. its just more feesable as of now.
