i just got my p29 pistons, what rods will work with these pistons in a d16a6, will the stock rods be fine for now?

The stock rod will work( the p29 piston still uses a press fit piston pin ), but it depends on what you are going to do with that motor, what other mods have you done(or what are you going to do later on?)

well as of now i just have exhaust and intake,( i was in the middle of deciding to go turbo or stay na.) but i wanna go na. so in the very near future i will have some brand of headers, possible a new cam, rods, and maybe some sort of fuel managment. mainly i wanna be able to play with car friday nights, and beat a few b series lol, but still have a daily driver. is the compression with these pistons and the d16a6 motor around 11.34?

p29's in a d16a6 with a stock head(hasn't been milled) has a comp ratio of 10.79 to 1. and i don't blame you for wanting to do something different, not just another LS swapped ef...

stock rods should be fine for your application.

Might as well get some ARP rod bolts too.

ARP bolts are definitely a good idea.... they are awesome.

also, getting the head milled will up the comp ratio even more... and a good intake manifold/larger throttle body would be useful if you want to rev higher than stock... with a valvetrain upgrade anyway.

There is a new design for the p29's that has a compression height of 30mm instead of the old 29mm.
If yours are the new design then your compression should be a little higher and the pistons won't sit in the hole like the old ones.

but watch out with milling your head, if your going to but a bigger cam, i would try to stay away from milling the head( don't want any valves to be hitting ) always a good idea to mock every thing up first
