Default Not your common CRX No Start problem

So I installed a b18b in a friend's CRX and converted it to OBD-1 with a jumper harness and repining the distributor plugs. It worked fine for two weeks, and these are his words but, it idled a little low and then died out, it did this three times and on the third time it just wouldnt start back up. I've run through the whole gamut. It cranks over and over and I test for spark, and fuel at the return line. Both are fine. I go through a ton of testing (spark, dist, ecu, all sorts) and just change main relay, ECU, distributor, spark plugs, engine harness and add about 3 engine grounds. Cart still wont start. I took out the fuel rail and the fuel comes out in pulses across the rail. The timing is 100% on, i dont have a compression tester, but I did take a plug out and felt air being pushed up and out. Just yesterday, I got it to compression fire after trying to start it for a while. It started but i had no way of revving the engine as the pedal did nothing when I pressed it. I am at my wits end and need this car done weeks ago. Can anyone offer any insight?

Thanks.

fuel pressure tested?

spurting out sounds odd, it should kinda pour out depending on where you disconnected it.

at the fuel filter should basically be a geyser.

Did you try spraying starter fluid in it, see if that will start it. No CEL? Do you have another ECU around you could try. You might have to bite the bullet and get yourself a compression tester, they're not that expensive.
