Default Motor Swap Difficulties

Hi everybody I'm new to the board!! ^_^

Basically long story short I have an 89 civic hatchy shell and recently purchased a b18a. I have the motor, tranny, ecu, and harness. It also came with brand new mounts but I'm not sure if they're good for the Integra --> Civic swap. Are there any other items I'll need to drop this motor? I've been told I'll need to cut out a part of my firewall. Any clarification on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wow you are a noob. No you dont need to cut your firewall. You will need after market mounts and shift linkage, integra 90-93 axles. What year is the motor?? More info would help.

also, you use YOUR ENGINE HARNESS
Not the B18 engine harness.
If your car is Dual-Point (DPFI) then you need to perform a DPFI to MPFI Conversion on it yourself, or send it off to be done at a company like Rywire.

you don't have to cut the firewall, but youll need to hammer in the alternator side a bit for clearance of the pulley. Other than that , mount kit from hasport, and youre good to go. Do the wiring yourself, it's cake! Just get your hands on a resistor box, and take your time.

Wow thanks for pointing that out. HAHAHA. To be honest this is the first car I've owned and I'm 21. Up until now the only transportation I've had has been a 00 Vulcan that I sold.

I have the 89si so it already has the mpfi. The motor is from a 92 LS. I already have a shift linkage and the axles and the original motor so I got the harness already. I supremely appreciate all the help!!

you have to get a shift linkage that is shorter than the teg and longer than the civic's. its a custom thing. you can be like everyone else and get charged way too much for a hasport mount kit OR get hcp or avid mounts and linkage(i think are better mounts anyway). also since its a 92 its obd1 and your car is obd0 so you either need to get a conversion harness, or get an obd0 90-91 b18a distributer and ecu.
