Re: Mini me (gutted-dx)
Yes you can use a B2 bottom. I have one in my 88 hatch right now. If you can, find a D16Y8 head and intake manifold. The OBD0 distributor will bolt up to the Y8 head much easier than the Z6 head. However, the Z6 head will probably be cheaper.

Re: (gutted-dx)
you will have to convert to MPFI im guessing since that's what the new head will be using. Y8 is the best bolt on..but yes the Z6 will be the cheaper one to get. Both work, just gotta make the Z6 fit.

Can this be done and keep the a6 intake manifold, injectors and sensors and keep it OBD 1?

You could use the A6 parts you listed except the injectors if you want to convert to OBD1. If you wanted to stay OBD0, then use the A6 or any other OBD0 injectors and injector resistor.

as long as you keep the resistor box i think u can use the a6 injectors. I never did mini-me on my b2 because i thought you needed a cam gear.. id always read timing was 1/2 tooth off

Re: (gutted-dx)
If you want to use the MPFI intake manifold, you have to convert your harness. There is no other way around it....2 injectors vs. 4 injectors....

if u want, i got almost everything for the MPFI swap. JoshRM87@wmconnect.com
either OBD1 or OBD0, have manifolds and injectors for either

Make the Z6 fit? it bolts on like the Y8.

yes it does bolt on, BUT, if u stay OBD-0, then u have to either fab an adapter plate for the a6 dizzy, or hack it up for it to fit good on the z6 head.

Re: Mini me (gutted-dx)
the easy way to mini me a dpfi car....
*buy a z6head, that is the easiest to work with and the obd1 setup is easier to run
*use the z6dizzy
*buy a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness from boomslang fabrication(i will vouch for his high quality)
*use p28 or p08(jdm ecu)
* you will need a obd1 wire harness to hack up
when you do the conversion you will best off to use your dx wiring harness. just add connectors off of a obd1 harness for the dizzy plugs and injectors and a few others to your dx wiring harness. you will need to run 4 extra wires directly from the ecu for the dizzy and 2 of your injectors, using obd1 injectors you canconnect all the grounds off of the injectors to the 2 injector grounds on the dx harness. to gather all your info on this swap with illustrations search for (mpfi swap) and (obd0 to obd1 conversion)

Re: (gutted-dx)
it doesnt matterif you use the obd0 distributor, it still wont run right , your vtec will only work if you use the right distributor and computer. taking shortcuts like your distributor idea or an rpm activated switch have no advantages and will not work out. convert it to multi point obd1 you'll be much better off this way and not slow as heck lool

obd0 will work fine with it, i run turboedit and can easily run vtec as well if not better than a p28 for much less than the cost of obd1 conversion

Yes you can but whats the point.. Going from dpfi to mpfi will give you more of a power jump then going to a vtec head would..
