Re: Lower Ball Joints (sirtef9)
get a big ole' socket that just fits around the edge of the ball joint (32mm i think?? might be wrong) and start hammering.....remember theres a snap ring that holds them in.....and make sure you dont crush the top when your installing the new ones

Yeah, put the air hammer on the bottom side.
I just did this for a friend, I took the snap ring out and two swings of my trusty bfh and out. I used a ball joint press from Autozone to put the new one in, you can rent them for a deposit and you get your money back when you return it.

Re: Lower Ball Joints (sirtef9)
I did it with a hammer to press it back in was not hard at all, but u got to be careful not to damage it. And the snap ring u can use pointed needle nose pliers to get it out.

I can but it will cost you more to get them to me than it will to have a local automotive machine shop do it...at least that's what I'd expect...we live about 200 miles from each other.

Yeah...the tool is pretty much a BFC-Clamp. You'd just need deep/wide sockets to receive the ball joint. I picked an el cheapo kit from harbor freight for like $30.

I tried a C clamp first but i wasn't successful. There is a significant amount of mechanical advantage to using the ball joint tool and besidies it's more or less free.
