a short block is a block without the head...a long block is a block with the head...you cant use the z6 tranny unless you do a cable to hydro conversion...!!!

The td42 (z6) dizzy wont work either, n the Dx dizzy won't have the right bolt pattern to bolt up to the Z6 head.

Stick with an Si or Zc tranny.

Normally you'd run the Z6 distributor and convert the whole thing to OBD1, or you could run a modfied DX OBD0 distributor and an OBD0 PR3 chipped and tuned on turboedit.

No such thing, the tranny just converts mechanical motion in ratios so that your car can move. It's up to you to decide if you like a certain tranny in combo with whatever engine you're running.

If you swap the engine in accordance with Ca specific swap rules and everything on the motor is good shape then it will pass.

You would need an obd1 p28 ecu, an obd1 dizzy, some wiring work, and you would have to convert to MPFI unless you've already done so. Then convert to obd1!!

But the best cable tranny you could get would be the EF Si or the EF ex sedan tranny.
