And I like your style of not sparing any expense to work on your crx. A moto I also hope to live by.

Those floor mats are awesome, I think I might need to get myself a pair. Maybe change it up a bit so as not to copy. The LED gauge lights are beautiful and something that I need to do. Car is looking great man. Its projects like these that make me mad that I can't get mine running. I had no idea Honda could still get old OEM Crx parts, after I get some $$$ and mine running looks like I'll need to pop on over to Honda

Subscribed! I had a question about your leaky roof seam seals. After seeing your thread, and went out and checked mine... and they appear to have minor cracks in them just like in your pictures. I really have no idea what the best way to repair them would be, will you be doing a write up or anything when it comes time?

If you do decide to do more parts of the car, you should look into getting proper wrapping vinyl.
The vinyl that is made to wrap cars has something called rapid air technology or similar.
The process is to get the base white vinyl, and laminate it with the matching clear laminate.
It has veins on the glue side of the vinyl that allows air to flow under the vinyl while it's being applied.
You can literally wrap the entire hood and then notice a 2" bubble in the middle and rub it a bit and it will flatten out and the air will bleed away from the bubble outwards.

You literally just slap it down and rub it flat, done

I used that vinyl to do my wrap in 2009, turned out good, It's still wrapped to this day.

Re: JLK16188's CRX Restoration and Build Thread
The thing that made it a bit easier for me I think was I had the entire roll laminated with the matching clear laminate, this gave it a bit more thickness and made it a lot easier to keep from stretching when I didn't want it to stretch. It had a harder time on the tight areas like the door handles, but the body panels are a lot easier to do with a laminate mated to the vinyl.

Dan,
How did you keep the edges around the wheel wells from peeling over time? I pulled the vinyl tight under the fender "lips" and tucked it up behind the fenders but Im still afraid they will peel off over time. Im considering buying door edge molding and running that along the edges of the fenders

Reason was that the paint on the inner lip didn't let the vinyl stick to it well enough and I knew it would be an issue so I trimmed to the outer lip:

WOW!
I had a fw posts open in different tabs. When I got to this post, all I saw was just the pictures of a very clean CRX.
I had no clue at all this was vinyl wrapped - had to go back a page to see what was going on!
VERY NICE!

little update:
I originally bought aftermarket oem replacement bumper covers but when i tried to install them, the didnt come close to fitting. So i bought a brand new owm front bumper and si lip with all the hardware, a used but minty rear bumper and a new front bumper support.

Good job man.. I do graphic design at a sign company and we do wraps all the time. I never thought of anyone doing a whole one color wrap instead of paint.. cool
