Ignitor and fuel pump issue
Car recently broke down beside the road and I ended up replacing the fuel pump.
Now I'm not sure if that was the problem was though. I checked the harness under the rear seat before I removed the pump and there was power going to the connector.
After I removed the pump, I checked it with a 9volt battery like someone suggested on this forum and it worked. I put my spare pump in anyway.
When I broke down on the road, I replaced the distributor with a working one I had in my car as a spare and the car still didn't start. Also swapped out the main relay with two spares in my car which I have since tested to know they work fine.
I wasn't getting any gas from the tank to the fuel filter, thats why I suspected the fuel pump (and the plugs were bone dry after cranking the engine over for several minutes).
Once I replaced the fuel pump, I started the car with my spare dist still in and it started fine. I finished up the work and swapped out the distributor with the one that was in there before and it wouldn't start (a little backfire going on cranking over), so I put the spare back in and thats what I'm running now.
Question: Would a bad coil or ignitor tell the fuel pump not to pump fuel? Read more at https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/fuel-pump-replacement-gas-tank-draining-2840299/

That would account for it stalling and not starting, but still doesn't explain why there was no fuel at the fuel filter connection. I had loosened the bolt for the fuel line coming from the tank to the filter and cranked the car over, no fuel came out, thats why I suspected the fuel pump was bad.
