Default Ignition Switch options.....

ok guys, heres the deal.

Short story- I bought my hatch, sold it, guy quit makin payments.. i REPO'd the hatch.

Situation- The focker changed the ignition so that i couldnt get the car back... well, i got it anyways. SO... now i have no key to start my car, but i have the key to the doors, and hatch. Also, I bought a new lock cylinder, but you have to have the original key to take the old one out... AAAGGGGHHH !!!!

Here is my thing:

1. Can a locksmith make me a key, if the ignition has been changed?
2. Can you get an ignition switch assembly from the J'yard?
3. Is there a way that I can bypass the Ignition switch, and start the car with one of those Ignited push button starters? And still not use the key?

I know this sounds like a wierd situation, but I need to figure this out so I can sell my Coupe and get this hatchback hooked up. Thanks alot in advance guys

Perhaps there is some serial number on the ignition or something and if you tell that to Honda they can make you a key. I know they can make you keys if you tell them your VIN, but obviously since its changed that wouldn't work, but maybe you can by the serial number or something.

Balled S2K- Not bad, I think I may give it a shot. So I can just remove my ignition assembly with this piece? and run my car off of a switch and a button? Sweet. Gotta get and alarm first, though. Thanks alot

anyone else got any suggestions?

no, this part doesnt remove your ignition. this is the switch and the button you were talking about. flip the switch, which would be like putting the car to the run position then starting it with a button. and theres gotta be a way that you can get that lock cylinder out without the key then just replace it. I have a few ideas on how to do it, but dont wanna post them on here for security reasons.

So the ignition switch itself stays in the car, on the steering column... but this plate, switch, and button mount somewhere in the car, and i can use them instead of using the key at all (since i dont have it)?? thanks in advance

Exactly. If you go to the link I provided you'll see the mounting instructions. Of course, any schmo that can flip a switch and press a button can start your car in less than 2 seconds. What you'll need is a battery kill switch.

its also good, if you put in a switch, to add a fuel pump cutoff switch and hid it somewhere. that way you wont get fuel if the pump wont turn on. Or, you could wire up that switch assembly, but add another togle to the ignition switch, and hide it, so you have to switch it on too to get power to your starter. hide a button.
