hydro clutch cylinder install
been on this for the last few days.
byebye nasty cable clutch and hello full hydro assemble from an EG civic (i got this so cheap its worth the hassle of fitting it all lol!)
will be finishing it off tommorow night, jsut got to weld the mounting plate in, maybe weld in a bar above the assembly so i can also bolt through there, but it can be done on a RHD crx, no idea if this will work on your lhd cars:
chop this off eg pedal assembly
go in the bay and drill off these spot welds and remove the brackets (keep the fuel filter one as you can re-locate the filter elsewhere on the bulkhead )
line it up here and pay attention to where the pedal will sit, then drill a hole as a guide
then bolt that through and drill the next one
the bolts are only temporary to hold the pedal in place
you will have to bin your flap control unit on the center heater matrix (fouls the pedal- see these 2 pics, i jsut locked mine to blow air out of all vents, its a summer car only anyway)
make up a template for a thick steel plate (you want at least 1.2mm wall thickness as it needs to be flat and rigid for the master to sit against)
forgot to get a pic of the plate, used 1.4mm steel and ground down that area on the bulkhead ready for welding. should be finished tommorow night i hope lol!

Re: hydro clutch cylinder install
and its in. last steps!
plate welded in after sharpie shaped it all to the blukhead
from inside
holes drilled:
trail fit of the pedal box ontp the plate/cylinder
seemed to work ok but the pedals were not in line to the brake also it had limited movement (only pushed the rod about 2-3cm, so sharpie being sharrpie took the pedal out and started bending, cutting and re-fabbing it so it would sit dead right and clear the wiring harness and allow a massiave ammount of stroke (we have no idea how much movement the cylinder needs to engage/disengage the clutch!)
and here it is all done
have to take it all back out to get some acid etch on it and some zinc primer and then crack on welding the arch and snading it all down ready for a full re-spray inside and out/underneath!. jsut need to drill a new hole for the heater flow cable but kept every other firewall hole for heater hoses and oe grommets!
