How to remove tailgate arms?
My tailgate arms in my trunk/boot are pretty shot and so I bought some Strong Arm replacements a while ago and now tried to fit them. The current arms don't have the same type of C clip on them. My question is how it gods name do i get these off!? I've used a big screwdriver to try and pry/pop them off the ball along with the big hammer but these suckers won't budge.
Couldn't find any guides here, can anyone solve this for me, i'm hoping it's not a case of having to remove the entire ball and replace those??

Re: How to remove tailgate arms?
you need a 12mm open end wrench and and a 10mm wrench and socket. remove the shelves 2x 10mm bolts each side, remove the plastic covers and use open end wrench to remove the ball joint from the bottom and the top. replace with new ball joints, reinstall covers, shelves and new struts. I just did mines last night. took about 15min.

Re: How to remove tailgate arms?
I just got a quote from my Honda dealer and they want $160 EACH for the ball joint and strut/arm. Apparently they don't sell the ball joints separately. So i'm thinking on my trying to rip/dremmel (don't have one though) the existing strut off as the new StrongArm struts I have are C clips and supposedly fit my car. That is unless anyone can tell me otherwise with regard to info as to purchasing the ball joints separately?

I used a Monroe Universal and it came with the bolts with the ball heads.
