How do KYB GR2's hold up
Just wondering if anyone has run with a 2" or so drop on some KYB GR2s for an extended period of time. Trying to see if they'll hold up to semi agressive daily driving with that kind of drop on the car.
Thinking of running those shocks with Eibach Sportlines.

In my experiences kyb gr2 gave out in about 6 months. IMO they dont hold up as long as I thought, but its probably because the car is too low at about a 2.75 drop in front and 2.25 in the back on GC coilovers.

Re: How do KYB GR2's hold up
I have GR2s with sprint springs (2.5 inch drop). Been about 3 years now, they hold up but I can tell they aren't as good as when they were brand spanking new. I only drive the car a couple of times a week too so yeah, probably equivalent to 1 years worth of regular driving. They're not blown yet, and I can probably still roll them for another year or so I'm guessing. If you go with them, I'd recommend getting extended top hats. Probably would be a good street/cruising set up, but would recommended AGX or similar if you're going to be doing any "serious" driving.

They are a pretty poor quality shock, I'd advise against them for anything other then an oem replacement but even for that there are better options.

Re: How do KYB GR2's hold up
Since you will be driving rough, i would suggest some full coilover system. I have used function and form type 1 and 2, with good results and i never had to change them for the 2 years that i had them, and keep in mind i use the car everyday. I've also tried tein ss, skunk2 pro s, and skunk 2 pro c's(which is what i have right now). Works great and rides like a caddy on a 2.5 drop. It may cost around $600-$1000, but it was worth it IMO. Spending roughly 400 on shocks alone, you might as well save a lil more and get a better suspension.

KYB GR2's are not for lowered cars. Waste of money and time.
I have KYB AGX's with H&R sport springs. Had them for a while. They are great. Also dampening adjustable. There are better out there, but they are a great bang for your buck.

Got kybs gr2 on the hatch with ebay coil. Slammed all the way the coils go. 4 inch drop. Its been 2 years now and neither have blown all still good. This is also in vegas, we have some of the worst roads in the world, so many potholes deformed streets huge asphalt bumps everywhere. I bottom my car out because of these streets atleast 10 times a day. gr2 get a great thumps up from me.

I have KYB GR2 in the front and stock Monroe on the back.
Drop on Eibach pro-kit springs about 1.5 drop I believe good for daily driving because that's all I do.
Good for daily driving but if you want to go lower I would suggest different shocks.

coilovers on gr-2's here, I'm dropped ~2.5" in the front, 2" in the back. Had them on for 2 months now, they're holding up. I wouldn't buy these unless it's dirt cheap. I got mine for $110, that's why. There's much better shocks out there
