Default bad BOV??

alright i have 88 turbo wagon with a 1.5 single, anyways wen i got it the rpm would go up and down like if i had a vaccum leak, so i was just taking a look at my motor and i placed my hand in front of my blow off valve and it was sucking air in, and wen i coverd the bov the engine would then idle perfect, i was like wtf, is as if the bov is openned all the time. the bov is a plastic bosch one it pretty crappy but am not sure if its the bov....what do u guys think?? btw yes there is a vaccum line that goes from the intake manifold to the bov. thanks guys

IN the FI forum, they're going to tell you to ditch the Plastic bov, which would be a good idea. i

Do you have a dedicated line from the intake to the BOV or do you have it tapped off another line?

it might be the bov but it also could be vacuum line, constantly holding the valve open, but it being plastic the internals could be cheap which could open under vacuum, when it blows off does it stay open for like 3 or 4 sec then shut, i had a turbo xs bov and it did that, buckle down and get a ssqv. even though ur not pushing alot of boost, it would probably fix the problem. dont quote me on anythign tho. heh
