Default Help for a newbie; smoke after a car accident

I was in a car accident a few days ago where a girl clipped my right front fender
with her big-*** truck. I drive an 89 CRX with a DOHC ZC swap with i/h/e. The
only damage to the outside was the front part of the fender and part of my
headlight. It just looked minor, so I drove away from the crash site just thinking I
had minor body damage. Immediately the car started acting up, engine stopping a few times while I was waiting in traffic, and I thought I kept hearing this faint flapping noise coming from right front fender/wheel well near where I got clipped. Later on that night, I went to get gas traveling at a low speed, and then all of a sudden the flapping got louder and louder and before I knew it, all hell breaks lose with black and white smoke engulfing my car including the interior. I manage to maneuver it into a parking space and pop the hood. After the smoke cleared, I noticed absolutely nothing out of the ordinary except where she clipped the front, it bent the engine bay/right wheel well a little and it was pinching the filter of my cold air intake. The car will not start anymore, just turn. I haven't taken it into a shop yet because I have zero funds and her insurance company is stalling because the bitch lied and said it was my fault even though we both agreed at the crash site she was the one at fault. Anyone want to take a shot in the dark and tell me what might be wrong. I bought the car how it was with all the mods, so I'm not very car-savvy, so that's why I try to come to these boards and learn. I appreciate anyone who read my long-*** story and wants to help. Thanks.

Its possible when she hit you and busted up your front and your filter that parts of the filter broke loose and got sucked into your engine...so if your not good with cars yet get someone you know or a shop to tear it down and look inside. I would say pull the plugs and check them and look inside the cylinders for damage but its hard to explain exactly what you would be looking for... And always let the cops deal with it if its not your fault, esp when there is considerable damage.

Thanks man, I will take it into a performance shop and do a complete check. Any more opinions of possibly what it could be, or worse-case scenario? Like would I possibly have to get a new engine? She just clipped me, but could there be any damage to the chassis? With this insurance back-and-forth it could be awhile before it see's a shop and I get some wheels. ****, if it is the engine and I have to get an estimate from a shop, it would be funny as hell if I told them to give me an estimate for a complete Type R swap, and see if that'll fly.
