Got any solution ideas? SOS
My 89 si's been sitting since thanksgiving break because of an incident on the highway where it sounded as a gunshot lefty exhaust and all of my lights came on in my gauge cluster. Haven't driven it since. Back when it happened, I checked everything internally; head gaskets good, cam and belt is in time, no bent valves etc.
The car fires but does not want to turn over. As I would hold the key forward, it would try ... Giving a little backfire every 3/4 rotations, but wouldn't turn over. I'm boggled by this, my dizzy, spark plugs/wires are all pretty new.
Anyone have any ideas? Possible sensor? Stumped ... SOS

Surprisingly, no. Not from what I could see. Belt still had tension, was maybe a snip of a tooth off but that's it .
