Default Fastbrakes problems

Not long after i installed new Brembo drilled discs with new pads my fastbrakes setup began to vibrate all over again.... Now i dont know if i warped the rotors or something else is wrong..

facts : - almost new discs
- rims are deff. not bent or the problem in any way.. almost
brand new and never hit them on anything.

I heard a friend of mine say something about the brackets.. that they are proun to bend after a while.. i hope not, because living in the Netherlands i dont have easy access to a couple of new brackets..

Anyways, i'm pretty p-o right now, since i spent alot of money on my braking system, and its not working properly.

Parts:
Brembo Drilled Discs
Raydo pads
Integra GSR/ Civic 5th gen VTi Calipers Nissin 16CL14VN
Goodridge Steel brakelines

Did your kit come with hubcentric rings?

It comes with the centric rings and it really only vibrates when i brake it hard when i drive over 100km/h.. speeds below it might vibrate, but less.

sounds like the rotors to me. I can't see how the brackets holding the calipers being bent would make a vibartion. if you could get a hold of 2 other rotors to swap out and test them to see if the vibration is still there that would probably help you solve the vibration.

I've also noticed, that when i drive about 80/90 km/h i feel a little shaking in the steeringwheel, as if the wheels need balancing.. this wasnt the case when i had my old 24cm brakes on, so it cant be the rims and wheels.. so something of an inbalance in the discs then?

Furthermore i have old suspension rubbers, which are ready to be replaced by PU (still in the box).. could that in any way affect the performance of the setup?

Or old drivetrain parts?? i do hear sounds coming from there when i steer one direction all the way and drive slowly in reverse...

i know, i know.. still a bit work to be done on the car, but getting there, step by step.

Is it sort of a creaking sound? Could be a busted CV boot.

If you can feel vibration at 100km/h try to turn the wheel with the car on jackstand. If the disk is warped, you will hear the pads grinding on the disk...I warp a set each summer.
I'm real hard on them....sometimes,I really push the pedal to the floor(no one following me)

My disk is blue.

As for the kit....I don't have nothing to say then a big praise!!!

Something is fishy....via the computer,I can't really help you out.

Never heard someones binding those bracket....I do some track times, and on the road,I'm not friendly with them.....for the past 2 years....I never ha d a problem with the kit.

Make shure the disk seats well against the knuckle.

I'll put the car on the jack some day soon and listen for any sounds.. if i hear any, i'll now its the rotors.. my best guess are the rotors now too.. strange though, that i warped them this quick.. although i'm not very nice to them

Cost an arm and a leg these things.. 100 bucks a rotor.. i'll go back to the shop and complain.. and get a different brand..

Anybody got any advice on the best brand for these rotors? Powerstop?

Are those VW G60 rotor without aluminum hat?

If so,here,I pay ~35$/each for brand new Brembo rotor(non slotted or cross-rice).

Aluminum hat?? i dunno, just standard Brembo Cross Drilled rotors for the VW G60.

Bear in mind that i live in The Nederlands, Europe, so things are somewhat more expensive.. however, such a different in price is just plain RUDE

Even though it didn't do it before, I'd get the wheels/tires balanced anyways, just my 2 cents from seeing how much 1 gram off balance can shake the front of a car.

I had also vibration problems with my set-up (NSX Caliper/Alcon280mmx28mm/DS2500)

What solved it for me was to use alot of "kopervet" in the bits where the brakepads go... The problem was with the other lubricant it vaporized underbraking... the brakes went DRY... no lubricantion= bad vibes...

EE9, i'll try your suggestion.. and indeed i did not replace the kopervet when i mounted the pads in the calipers again..

P.S. your setup still kicks ***

I'd say that you probably need a rebalance or even new tires. Also, do you torque down the lug nuts to spec? On my 90 SI, the rotorswarp if the wheels aren't torqued to 80lbs

Hey, some times even brand new rotors will need to be turned some times. Had this problem one time right after installing new rotors, One rotor ended up needing to be turned or resurfaced. It an idea and may beat having to buy new rotors.
