DPFI Coolant leak

DPFI Coolant leak
Hey everyone, just finished putting a new transaxle in my '89 and when filing the coolant back up (drained it also) i noticed it was leaking coolant at what I thought was the throttle body hose (large one). I took the hose off and it didn't have any pinhole and after closer examination the leak was actually coming from right above the hose. I can't for the life of me figure out why it leaking, is my manifold cracked? Any way to bypass the coolant going to the intake? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of peope bypass the throttle body coolant lines altogether

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
From what I can tell it goes through the eacv and then back into the head or block so not sure how it would affect your idle air control maybe it's just to keep the eacv from freezing shut in the winter just like why it runs through the throttle body.

The leak is coming from right below the large hose. It's not the hose itself, kind of coming out of the manifold itself. Anyone know what needs to be re routed to bypass the intake coolant stuff? Why would it leak after changing the gearbox? I didn't even touch anything even close to the intake.....

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
What's bad about that is the leak is on the manifold you say, so bypassing it won;t solve your problem. It would need to be at your throtlebody.
People bypass it to get lower intake temps. It is there to keep the throttle plate from sticking in really cold areas.
If it's leaking, it is letting air into your system and creating air in your system which in turn causes erratic idle.
Ig you can find the exact source, just have someone weld it shut. Or use some JB weld and let it cure for good

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
It's probably leaking if you leaned on it and cracked it somehow.
To bypass it, follow the line through were it ends up going back into the engine, bypass everything in between with a longer hose.
This is only bad if you live in really cold areas.
Keeps us up to date.
I don't see any leak though
edit:
I once had a skunk2 manifold that leaked in a similar location. The metal connector was loose. We just welded it

correcct. The metal pipe that's pressed into the manifold.
Bypasson everything in between that line is okay. But if you wanted to, you could probably seal them completey

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
Cool that actually makes sense, it leak from right BELOW the hose, but no signs of weeping from the hose itself. It gets below freezing here in the winter so I'm thinking about not bypassing. But also plan on doing the MPFI swap this summer as soon as an since rolls into u pull it. For now I might just pull off the manifold and inspect that area and clean the tb and IAC while I have it off.

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
Just thought I'd give everyone a little update, found the leak. Turns out it was the small coolant line that runs alongside the crankcase breather hose then goes back to the intake. It was flowing down the intake and giving me a false sense of where it was actually leaking. Thanks for all the help you guys rock!!!

Re: DPFI Coolant leak
Yesterday I had the coolant bypass hose (with the rusty clamp from the picture that goes up into the throttle body) swell a big bulge on the lower part of the hose before making a mess in a Wendy's parking lot. What direction is the flow in and the purpose this hose?
