DOHC ZC Throttle Cable Question??
My research has lead me to believe that when you convert your dpfi over to mpfi you need a different throttle cables, because the stock cable tends to stick. So here it goes, my gas pedal had been stickin (obviously)and the engine idled like it was "under load", like maybe 2 or 2500 rpm & in order for me to drop the engine down to 1500 rpm I would have to lift up on the pedal.
So i presume the cable was kinked or stuck, idk, so i lubed the cable up with white litheum grease and still no luck.
So anyhoot I was able to locate a throttle cable from a 92 Integra. supposidly the integra cable is shorter in length than the EF (which is true) and would prevent the cable from stickin.
So I installed the new throttle cable yesterday and theres no tenshion on the cable whats so ever. The shorter distance actually created more slack.
For what ever reason i didnt compare the throttle cable from 92 Civic when I was at the junk yard
So lmk if any of you guys have had any luck with the Integra cable & how you went about doing it

Re: DOHC ZC Throttle Cable Question??
According to my research DA or EG throttle cable will work, because they all run MPFI.
The EF SI is obviously the best choice, but extremly hard to find in the junk yards!

Spend $20 on a new Si cable, and you can try and use the zc manifold cable bracket, or get one from an Si as well
