distro problem and CEL
* note - b16 in an EF hatchback
ok so i recently bought this hatchback off my friend replaced the distro, did some maintences yadda yadda,
well anyways the car gets a code 7 while just driving... doesnt hurt anything it just pops up and it really bugs.... but what keeps me is the dying distro... i only got 300 miles on this one ... can they be related at all?

i have this same problem, but to answer your question, i dont think it has anything to do with your distributor. a code 7 is the throttle position sensor on your throttle body. i hear they are not that easy to find so i havent replaced mine yet, ive checked my current one with a meter and it seems like its operating properly, could be wiring, or perhaps something in the same loop as the TPS. ive also noticed my cel comes on only when im more than 50% throttle, and it doesnt happen all the time. hope i helped a little.
