Do you have any sound clips/vids of your EF Yonaka system?

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
I too have been on the hunt for an exhaust i was gonna go with thermal r&d but i dont like the sound nor the piping size, next i looked at fujibitso but ya im not balleur enough to shell out 1200 $ even if its gorgeous on a crx, mongoose out of the uk so far for me is the front runner but at 800$ it isnt exactly cheap but then again i require a full stainless system!!!
i also looked at the diy custom route but determined the savings would be negligible the options for quality ed exhausts are dwindling quickly it seems

The Thermal is great, but is quite "blingy".
Back to topic, looks like I'm out of luck since the Yonakas aren't really showing up as in-stock anywhere. Those eBay sellers aren't replying to my inquiries, which means they most likely drop-ship like the other online retailers.

I dont have any sound clips of my personal car, Ill see what I can do about that though...
It sounds very similar to this one, but a little deeper at idle:
This is a pretty good WOT vid:
This is a really nice vid. Very close to how mine sounds:

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
Thanks for posting those vids! My hesitation was mainly due to the lack of d-series yonaka sound clips out there. Good to know that the integra vid that is circulating everywhere is a good example of what the Ef system sounds like. Thanks again!

I was getting ready to order this but saw the note (will not fit the 4DR Sedan model) under the title. Is there anything like this that will fit the sedan?

Don't count out the ebay exhaust. There were some threads on here saying the ebay ones turned out to be OK.
Personally, I have stainless mandrel with magna flow cat and muffler, cost $800 in parts. Only problem I had, is the guy who welded it, didn't use the stainless hangers. This ultimately ruins the any of the stainless pipes that were welded to it.

Dang. That's pricy. There are bolt in SS kits for less than that.

What hangs low? The muffler? That's like factory height from what I see. The yonaka is a 2" exhaust system in SS. Not all the exhaust shown were of that size. I know my 3" exhaust system will hang lower due to the increased size alone.

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
Yes it does hang low. I'm on stock height so it's not that big of an issue, but with that said $800 for an exhaust is too much for me. It's just not a justifiable cost with a $900 car. Maybe if this was a GT-R, but that's another story.
I'll be waiting a bit for the Yonaka and try and see what the vendors are expecting with regards to in-stock ETA.
Another option of mine is to try and snag a deal on an aftermarket OEM replacement. If I can find a b-pipe & dual tip muffler combo for $150-$200, I'll be alright with that. The noise from aftermarket exhausts can get annoying after a while, and while the Yonaka may be "quiet", nothing really beats stock in that department!

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
Quiet aye? I have seen a couple aftermarket OEM replacement mufflers going for $50 here and there. What is the B-pipe? The second half of the exhaust manifold, is that what you are talking about? If you are going for a stock replacement, and that's really all you want, then you can definitely get a stock muffler and some 1.5" or whatever it is exhaust done at a shop for CHEAP. That and a nice looking tip would give you the noise level you want and the look the car deserves.

I said I don't want a title!
Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
My issue with aftermarket exhausts for the 88-91's:
1) Tip is 4"+ aka 2001 ricer-style. Does anyone seriously think a 4" tip looks good on the rear of a 88-91?
2) Most aftermarket mufflers hang too low and/or the tip isn't tucked up properly to the bumper. Just poor R&D or use of a cheap "universal" muffler when building an exhaust.
The good systems are specifically made for the car. OEM, the old Mugen EF exhaust and the HKS that can still be found are examples of how to properly do a catback on a 88-91 (preserving the OEM-look twin-tips as well).
I just don't trust the SS $150ish catbacks found on ebay. Call me crazy.

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
i was somehow able to sell the axle back for $20 and bought a GReddy SP2 axle back for $75 and put it on
i think that they are worth buying if not only for the piping. run the mid pipe and get a custom axle back and you come out cheaper than if you'd got a complete custom exhaust made

Re: Current (2013) Exhaust Options?
it's gone. got rear ended at a stop light by a woman doing 60mph. spare tire well dented the the top of the exhaust pretty good. sold it to a friend of mine and he finished it off by riding around slammed and scraping holes in the bottom
