CRX a/c problem
I've got an 89 crx si with all the a/c components and relays still intact and in working order. I've checked all the voltage, resistance points and made sure the condenser fan was good. I just installed a reman compressor and had the system evacuated properly by a professional licensed tech. The system is charged and has the proper amount of refrigerant and oil.
Here's the problem: When I put the a/c switch on the compressor and cooling fan come on, but not the condenser fan. I know the fan is good as I hooked it directly to the batt to make sure it kicks on. The condenser fan relay has power going in, but no power going out to kick it on. I've checked the ground and even bypassed the relay and the fan kicked on until the fuse popped (which was like 5 seconds). I checked the relay by switching it out with the cooling fan relay and it still kicks the cooling fan on so I know it's good. After checking everything possible, I'm exhausted of ideas to get this problem solved. I even asked my friend who's a certified master tech at acura and he's never seen this problem before. There is no wiring issue that I can find and all the components are in working order. Just not too sure why the condenser fan will not come on. Oh, and the compressor and cooling fan stay on constantly without cycling on and off like they should.
Any help or a little point in the right direction would be much appreciated. It's hot here in the houston area and I need a/c asap!

Re: (I CRX I)
both fans kick on when the compressor clutch engages. that would be the cooling fan and the condenser fan. don't know of any other fans that would be on except the blower inside if you want to consider it a fan. if you have any ideas, please share them because i really need this ac fixed and it's driving me nuts that i don't know what it is.

Re: CRX a/c problem (crxsi89)
Well, it sounds like you have more than one problem if your compressor stays on. If that is constantly on, you are going to burn it up really fast.
When I put AC in my crx for the first time, all I did was follow the pdf diagram and created my own wiring harness for the AC components (since I couldn't find one anywhere else), hope this helps, and good luck:
